Windsor Great Park, The Long Walk & Deer Park

Me and Nathan came to The Long Walk in Windsor Great Park in hope of finding the Deer. We decided the turn off the main path pretty early on to search for them, it turned out if we stayed on the path we would have found them sooner. However in doing this we found a great pong along the way with some great photographic opportunities.

Swans

In the pond was a family of Swans with an adorable cygnet. The cygnet stayed quite close to mum, and dad stayed quite close to me, looking menacing and making sure I wasn't up to any mischief. The Cygnet was very cute and made some lovely photos.

Geese

Also around the pond were various Geese hiding in the long grass and occasionally popping their heads out. I managed to get this photo of a Greylag Goose popping it's head up that I really like.

Deer

We finally found the Deer actually quite near the main path, which made us feel stupid for veering off the path in search of them. The weather was a bit gloomy and damp which I think looks great for photographing deer.

There were a few Jackdaws around that kept landing on the Deer's backs, and when this one landed on this Deer's head I could barely hold the camera still enough because I found it hilarious.
